The ICAR–Indian Institute of Oil Palm Research celebrated its 32nd Foundation Day on 19-02-2026 at Pedavegi. The programme began with ceremonial planting of tissue culture plants in the field followed by lighting of lamp in the Auditorium. Dr. K. Suresh, Director, in his Welcome Address, highlighted the institute contributions to oil palm farming community. The celebrations were graced by Chief Guest, Dr. Uppalapati Sreedhar, Former Principal Scientist & HOD, Crop Protection, ICAR–CTRI, Rajahmundry anddistinguished Guests of Honour:Mr. Uppalapati Ram Prasad, Civil Engineer & Ex Correspondent, Sir CRR college, Eluru, Mr. Bobba Veera Raghava Rao, President, AP Oil Palm Farmers Association, Vijayawada and Dr. Santosh Swamy, General Manager (R&D), M/s Godrej Agrovet Ltd.The Institute’s key achievements of 2025 were showcasedand awards for excellence were presented to Dr. K. Manorama, Principal Scientist for national research visibility, Dr. ARNS Subbanna, Senior Scientist and Dr. B. Kalyana Babu, Principal Scientist for farmer-centric impactful research and Dr. M. Amruthalakshmi, Scientist for high NAAS-rated publications.There were release of Institute publications including the Nursery Manual, Crop Calendar, Weed Bulletin, and Atlas for Irrigated conditions and revised version of mobile apps viz., Oil Palm Site Suitability Evaluator and Oil Palm Nutrient Advisor. An MoU with M/s Godrej Agrovet Ltd. for commercialization of four ICAR–IIOPR technologies was approved during the program. The guests highlighted the renewed commitment of ICAR-IIOPR towards advancing oil palm research for farmer prosperity and sustainable growth of oil palm industry in India. The program ended with felicitation of the guests.
